ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Sherwood Pictures will shoot scenes for its latest movie in the Dougherty County Jail.  Monday, co-writer Stephen Kendrick asked county commissioners for approval to shoot part of "Courageous" at the jail.  They gave the okay.

The theme of this movie is fatherhood. Kendrick says just as they tried to capture the value of marriage in the last movie "Fireproof", the producers are trying to showcase the importance of fathers in the lives of children.

Kendrick said, "We're learning statistically that someone is five times more likely to commit suicide, to drop out of school to use drugs and 20 times more likely to end up in prison if their father is not in their life and so Courageous, the new movie that Sherwood is filming right now, focuses in on fatherhood."

The movie focuses on four Sheriff's deputies who deal with gang problems and people in jail and realize the need for strong fathers.
