ALBANY, GA (WALB) – It may be a sign the economy is recovering. Businesses are hiring more workers now than they have in several years.

New numbers show employers nationwide added 290,000 workers to their payrolls in April, the biggest gain in four years.

The unemployment rate still went up slightly, but that's likely because people who had given up on finding jobs are searching again.

Despite the good news, President Obama says there's still a lot to do to get more people back to work.
