ALBANY, GA (WALB) – If you're looking for a hotel room in Albany, you might be out of luck. The Georgia High School Association is holding state track meets here this weekend.

Hotels around town are packed. Gerald Terrell says he looked at five other hotels before he found a vacant room at the Sleep Inn.  His daughter is competing and he's here to cheer her on.

He said, "The track meet. They got the state meet and they are booking 'em up pretty fast."

Jaye Lomax said, "The sports business is good. We love it, we love it."

Jaye Lomax manages the Sleep Inn. She says anytime a large sporting event is in town, it's good for the hotel business.

She says business is up overall this year, averaging 60% occupancy.
