TIFT COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A 7-year-old boy hit by a car while getting on a school bus in Tift County has died.

Jonathan Martinez died Thursday at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

He was hit as he crossed Whiddon Mill Road to board the bus Wednesday morning.

The driver of the car, 92-year-old Mason Thompson, said he didn't see the school bus because of the fog.

Troopers are still investigating.
