ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Some golfers took advantage of the nice weather Thursday and teed off for charity.

The Swinging Safari golf tournament at Riverpointe Golf Course raises money for Chehaw Park. Before the golfers headed onto the course, they received some inspiration from Tiger himself,  Tiger the owl.

The tournament will help fund various programs at the park.  Liz Gray said, "Swinging Safari golf tournament really gives more exposure to Chehaw to local people that might not know what all Chehaw has to offer and spreads the word about what a great attraction we have."

The Friends of Chehaw board hopes to make about $8,000 from Thursday's event.
