ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Local governments provide lots of services to citizens, and they need tools to get the job done. Thursday, some departments, like public works and recreation got to try out some of that equipment.

15 vendors took part in equipment days at Paul Eames Sports Complex. They showcased and demonstrated the latest in grounds maintenance equipment. Modern Gas showed off a propane powered mower.

Suzanne Davis said, "With the current economy we can't send people to any type of trade show or what not, so what better method than to bring the vendors to us."

About 250 people attended Thursday's event. It's something the recreation and parks department hopes to sponsor each year.
