SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) –A murder suspect out of Griffin Georgia was located and arrested this morning in Sylvester.

20 year old Chesry Mathis was found hiding under a pool table at a Sylvester home.

Griffin Police say they took arrest warrants out on Mathis following a drug related homicide that occurred Tuesday in the city.

Police were told Mathis had family in the Sylvester area.

Several leads on his whereabouts led Sgt. Richard Phillips, Todd Phillips, Cary Jackson, Tony Thomason, Stan Phillips and Jonathan McGee to a location in Ashburn.

But upon arrival, investigators discovered Mathis moved in the middle of the night from Ashburn to Sylvester.

With the help of Ashburn Police, Turner County Sheriff's Office, and Sylvester Police, Investigators were able to track Mathis down.

He was arrested this morning at a home on 107 Carmen Lane and taken to the Spalding County Jail.

He faces four charges including felony murder and malice murder.
