ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The owners of a new restaurant at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport are in a dispute over operating hours with the airport authority.
Cross Landing Eatery and Bar owners Trudy and Ricky Cross want to stay open until midnight on Saturdays. Right now, they have to close by 5:00 p.m. after the last flight that lands.
Tuesday night, the Airport Authority discussed allowing the change if the owners pay for required airport security guards, but they made no decision.
"They had already decided what they wanted to do and they basically told us this is it and nobody motioned anything to changed. Nobody said we'll get back to you later and they didn't offer any options to be fair,' said restaurant owner, Trudy Cross.
The owners say they can't afford to pay for the security guards. Airport leaders say they can't pay to keep the terminal open just for the restaurant.
