Albany- A Dougherty County jail inmate is still on the run, after escaping from a work detail Friday.

Jomokenyette Tipton, 28, stole a city truck Friday afternoon, and disappeared. He was being supervised by a recreation department employee, who got out at a store and left Tipton in the truck with the keys.

Tipton took off, abandoning the truck at Harding and Dorsett.

In 1995, he served five months in prison on a three-year sentence for theft by receiving stolen property. Tipton was scheduled to be released in October.
