ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Civilians are giving back to the men and women on the front lines in Iraq.

A Christian women's group out of Fitzgerald made pillows for the troops. A simple gift they hope will show soldiers their gratitude.

They delivered the 120 hand sewed pillows to the 110th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion on Saturday.

Some soldiers picked up their gifts on Saturday, two more bags will be delivered to the others.

"We wanted to make that sacrifice and do something for someone else because they sacrificing for us," said Oweta Hegeman, Christian Women's Ministries, Chaplin.

The Christian Women's Ministry encourages other groups to do something to remind troops they are appreciated.
