ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Deerfield Windsor's Kelly Conway had never lost in the 1600 meter run at the GISA AAA State Track Meet. Conway was looking for a 5th straight championship in the mile, which she first won as an 8th grader in 2006.

The senior's final 1600 would be a disappointing run on Thursday.  Conway turned in one of her worst times of the season at 5:40.63 and finished 7th. FPD's Grace Tinkey became the new State Champion with a time of 5:15.32

Conway is disappointed to see her run come to an end but she suddenly has extra motivation heading into the rest of the weekend's races.

"Definitely makes me more motivated to run a great 800 tomorrow to kind of redeem myself and get a better taste in my mouth" said Conway.

Conway looks to make it four straight championships in the 800 tomorrow. In AA Sherwood Christian's Katie Meagher and Tiftarea's William Howell finished runner up in the 1600.
