Scott makes a big switch

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Republican State Representative Austin Scott from Tifton dropped out of the governor's race, and will try to oust Democratic 8th District Congressman Jim Marshall.

Marshall often votes with Republicans, but Scott says he is helping to destroy our economy by supporting Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and therefore allowing Democratic bills to come to the floor.

Scott believes he can do more to improve the economy in Congress than in the Governor's mansion.

"Winning the 8th Congressional District gives me the best opportunity to make a difference in Georgians lives, and that is the underlying factor in this decision."

Scott says his top priorities will be the economy, ethics, and education.

He says as he traveled the state campaigning for governor, he learned a lot from voters that will help him in the Congressional race.
