ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Senior citizens took part in some healthy competition Thursday. Sowega Council on Aging held Golden Olympics Thursday morning for seniors who participate in their programs.

They took part in frisbee, basketball, football throw, and horseshoe competitions. There were several participants in their 90's.

Dollie Roberts is 86 and ready to take home the gold.  She said, "When I get on the couch, it's going to be 'cause I got to be on the couch. My kids tell me to 'sit down momma'. I said, 'no. I'm going 'til I can't'."

Deloris Terry said, "Half of mine participate every year and that motivates them to get up and do something and be independent."

The Council on Aging's Site 2 has won the competition seven years in a row.
