ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Brenda Bozeman likes keeping an eye out for her neighbors. This paid off Wednesday night while looking out her kitchen window.

"I saw kids breaking into my neighbors house," says Bozeman.

Shocked at what she was seeing, she could only watch as the crime unfolded before her eyes.

"They took a brick and threw it in the back window"

Bozeman called 911 and police responded to the home in the 1600 block of Avalon Avenue within minutes of receiving the call. An officer was on the scene as three teens kicked in the door.

"The officers came just in time to catch them but they hauled buggy through the house," said Bozeman.

From the back door through the front door, the suspects took off. One was later caught on Lincoln Avenue, two others got away.

Jacqueline Swinney has lived in the home for 6 years. She says she's just happy she wasn't home.

"If I had been inside, I just don't know what would have happened. I don't know if they would tried to hurt me if I had been inside," said Swinney.

Officers were at the scene where they dusted for prints and collected evidence.

It doesn't appear that anything was stolen. But a brazen break-in in daylight is a rude awakening for those who call this neighborhood home.

"I'm scared now I definitely want to move," said Swinney.

Police say the suspect they arrested is a juvenile.

They believe the two others involved are also teenagers.

Investigators brought another suspect in for questioning, but he has not been charged.
