Albany student wins state STAR Award

ATLANTA, GA (WALB) – Westover High School senior Michael Lomax is Georgia's STAR student. He was one of 15 regional finalists and was presented the award at a banquet Wednesday night in Atlanta. Lomax told us a few weeks ago he was shocked even to win the regional title. He's waiting to find out which Ivy League colleges will accept him, but his top choice is Princeton.

    Five new family medicine doctors will soon enter the workforce after spending three years of their residency here in Albany. Doctors Danielle Andrews, Sarah Codrea, Justin Lancaster, John Macon and Jennifer Yam graduated the Phoebe Family Medicine Residency program Saturday night at the Doublegate Country Club.
