ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Dougherty County Commissioner John Hayes says he will run for re-election.
Standing with family, friends, and fellow commissioners, Hayes said he's proud of the work he's accomplished while serving on the commission.
He wants to continue serving the people in District two.
"Our citizens are the most important thing to us regardless of all the other work that we do, that's why we do it and so thank you for the opportunity to serve in the past and I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving on the Dougherty County commission."
Hayes plans to qualify officially Thursday morning.
Lonnie Smith already qualified as a Republican to run against him.
