ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Albany State baseball coach Edward Taylor wasn't shy back in January when he stated the goal for this year's team.

Win the SIAC title.

Albany State is ready to win their first conference baseball title in three years when the SIAC tournament starts Wednesday at the Paul Eames Complex.

The Rams have finished second to Stillman College the last three seasons.

Albany State is not only wanting to win the conference title.

They want to go through Stillman to get the trophy.

Head coach Edward Taylor reminding his players there are other teams they have to beat to win the conference championship.

Edward Taylor said. "Of course everybody wants to play Stillman again. Just to prove we can beat them again. I told them don't even worry about it. We will just take it one game at a time and LeMoyne-Owen is first and whoever else is next. That is what we are going to do."

Albany State plays LeMoyne-Owen at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
