DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A Dougherty County Family has to find a new place to live for a while after fire gutted part of their home.

Three people were inside a trailer in the 3900 block of Moultrie road when they smelled smoke. Everyone got out safely.

Six engines responded to the call, fire fighters say a electrical short under the house is the likely cause.

The flames destroyed everything in two rooms of the house and the laundry room.

The family is staying with relatives and is trying to get help from the Red Cross.

You can contact the family directly to help at (229) 349-4790.
