ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany company gave back to the community in a big way today.

SOWEGA Tax Service held their Community Block party downtown.

A few hundred people were expected to turn out. There were vendors and games for the kids.

The company said despite the slow economy southwest Georgia has showed them support and this is their way for saying thanks.

"The economy is declining, but there are some people that are still loyal to some businesses and we value all of our customers, the ones who came pack, the new ones, everyone who has supported us through the years," said Shay Hosely, SOWEGA Tax Service.

The Company held a drawing to give a way a car to one of their customers.

The hip-hop trio Travis Porter were also scheduled to perform their hits for the crowd at the block party.
