ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Students at Lake Park Elementary school wrapped up a week of learning about careers with a job fair Friday.
The gym was filled with students who got the chance to learn a little more about the different medical professions. Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital allowed student to look through microscopes and a local chiropractor explained to students how she helps patients. Lake Park Elementary is a magnet school for the medical arts and school leaders say it's never too early to talk about a career.
"That gives them a goal or something to think about so that they can realize they need that math, they need that science, and it's just to let them know that what they're doing in elementary school can have an impact on them later in life whatever they choose to do," said Catherine Whitfield, Lake Park Elementary Principal.
Students were also permitted to dress in the profession of their choice. Some dressed as a chef, others as an authors, and famous singers.
