Valdosta - The Valdosta State University community is honoring a murdered professor. The College of the Arts has established the Bobby Blake Memorial Scholarship.

Blake was shot to death and his body stuffed in the trunk of his car last spring. Students and professors say the scholarship is a way to remember his life, not the tragic way he died.

"He loved his students, he loved the arts and for many years, he was my good friend," said Deborah Morgan.

Bobby Blake was Assistant Dean of the College of the Arts and chair of the Communication Arts department.
