ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Darton College golf team is counting down to making a fun at fourth national junior college title next month.
The Cavaliers first have to win the region tournament this weekend which they are hosting at Stonebridge Country Club.
Darton has won eight straight region titles by really just showing up and teeing off.
That is not the case this year.
The Cavaliers have a young rosters and teams like Young Harris and ABAC are much improved.
Darton understands they are going to have to play their best golf of the season if they want to get back to nationals.
Darton golfer Josh Cone said. "Hopefully we have built some momentum coming in. We are definitely not the super favorite we are every other year."
Head coach Dale Dover said. "You don't ever want to underestimate your opponents. ABAC has been playing well this year and so has Young Harris. They have got solid teams and are going to have to play well to win."
The GJCAA Region golf tournament is Friday through Sunday at Stonebridge Country Club.
