ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Folks in Albany will no longer get new phone books dropped on their doorsteps every year. Tuesday, the Public Service Commission voted to exempt telephone companies from distributing white pages door to door in communities with more than 50,000 residents. AT&T asked for the change to save money. Phone companies must still give phone books to people in smaller cities and to any customer who requests a directory.
