ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Fitzgerald police have called off the search for a man they say was wanted for murder.

Warrants were issued for 27-year-old Ronnie Young, officials say he is behind a deadly Saturday morning shooting in Fitzgerald.

Young turned himself into the Wilcox County Sherriff's Office on Sunday Morning.

Investigators say he was sought for gunning down 33-year-old Marcus Edwards outside of club Staxxx in Fitzgerald. Witnesses told police the men had been fighting inside the club and that Young fled after the shooting.

"This started a couple of weeks ago over a minor incident because someone felt disrespected," Inv. James Tilley, Fitzgerald Police Department.

Back in 2008 when the club was under a different name Young's twin brother also shot and killed someone at the same location.

This was the first murder in Fitzgerald this year, investigators have not yet recovered the murder weapon.
