ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany is gearing up for a major Tea Party Saturday, and a rising Republican leader is in town to help.

Lenny McAllister will be the main speaker at tomorrow's Albany Area Tea Party Rally.

He had dinner with a small group at Doublegate Country Club Friday night.

McAllister has been noted nationally for his ability to provide strong conservative points of view from an African-American perspective.

"It's not a republican thing it's an American thing it's about having more citizens back involved, being more educated, and willing to move forward with being more involved in everyday politics and understanding that it's all tied together. We're one big team before we're republican or democrat we're Americans and Tea Parties are a way to celebrate that," said Lenny McAllister, Author and Political Commentator.

McAllister signed copies of his book, "Diary of a Mad Black PYC (Proud Young Conservative): Editorials, Essays, and Articles from a Hip Hop Republican" at Darton College.

The Albany Area Tea Party begins at ten Saturday morning at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
