ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The Colquitt County Courthouse Square will be full of music and activities this weekend.

Friday night, the courthouse lawn will host a country star. Throughout the afternoon, crews set up for the free concert on the courthouse lawn. The concert is the kick off for the Spring Fling and Backyard BBQ Competition this weekend. It will be two days full of activities for kids and adults. There were already chairs on the lawn reserving a place for the big concert.

"Friday the festival kicks off with John Conlee, free concert here on the Colquitt County Courthouse Square. Conlee's had 26 number one hits, we have a lot of fans in this area for him so we're real excited about that, That kicks off at 8:00 tonight," said Amy Johnson, Downtown MainStreet Director.

Saturday, events start with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 AM. From nine to four there will be activities for all ages. 26 teams will compete in the annual Backyard BBQ Competition and there will be plenty of activities for kids including a Downtown Idol contest.
