COLQUITT, GA (WALB) -  Former Miller County football coach Ronnie McNease died Thursday at his home near Colquitt.

Seminole County head coach Alan Ingram says McNease had bypass surgery last week and collapsed in his year.

McNease was 58 years old.

He coached Miller County High for 23 seasons with 172 wins, eight region titles and the state semifinals in 1999.

McNease stepped down after the 2006 season.

Some of the players he taught the game were Charles Grant, Brandon Miller and Selma and Don Calloway.

Ingram, worked as Miller County's defensive coordinator, called McNease a true friend and one of the nicest men in high school coaching.
