ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Unemployment hits another record high in Georgia.  It rose to 10.6 percent in March - up from 10.5 percent in February.

Georgia's rate has now exceeded the national average for two and a half years. Roughly 500,000 out of work Georgians are currently looking for jobs.

WALB spoke to one woman at Goodwill's Career Center who says she's willing to move anywhere for good job.

"I want to leave and while I'm searching, I'm looking not only in Albany, but other places too," said  Patrina Edwards. "I will go where ever a job may take me."

Thursday night, Congress sent President Obama a bill that extends unemployment benefits for two months for people whose 26-weeks of state benefits have run out.
