ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  What amateur athlete hasn't wondered what if would feel like to compete and get paid like a professional?

Albany bowler Wayne Jordan will get that chance.

Jordan is one of 27 bowlers from across the nation who have qualified for the AMF National Bowling tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend.

The tournament will pay 50 thousand dollars to the winners of four different divisions.

The finals will be run just like a professional bowling tournament with a big pay day coming to the first and second place finishers.

Jordan, who has three 300 games to his credit, qualified by winning the district title in Mobile two weeks ago.

He is excited about the chance to bowl with other 200 average bowlers with a big paycheck on the line.

Wayne Jordan said. "Being able to compete against bowlers at your level and not having to bowl pros for this kind of money is exciting. Because you really feel like you have got a chance because you are bowling against people just like you. Yea I have got a chance at winning 50 thousand. It is exciting."

Wayne Jordan was one of 11 hundred bowlers who signed up for the national competition here in Albany.

The AMF bowling finals begin Friday in Las Vegas.
