ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The United States is a melting pot of people from many nations and cultures. So it's no surprise to see that reflected in the military. Thursday the Marine Corps Logistics base celebrated those differences with a multi-cultural unity day.

The theme was E Pluribus Unum, that's the Latin phrase you see on your money, which means, out of many, one. Angelo Knox said, "We represent all. We want to welcome all tonicities, so this is what we call our unity and multiculture day."

Terrell Rountree said, "It's very important to recognize different cultures so that we can create awareness and also the respect of various cultures and what they stand for."

Multicultural Day is held each year at the base on the Third Thursday in April.
