Albany-- It looked like a well-planned robbery. About 10:00AM, a man stormed into the bank of America on North Slappey and Dawson Road, wearing what appeared to witnesses to be a bulletproof vest, and carrying an AK-47-type rifle.

He was wearing green khaki, almost like an army soldier. Witnesses outside the bank said that they heard two gunshots, but no one was hurt. The man sped away from the bank in a gray two-tone Chevy Caprice, which was found, abandoned on Greendale and Baldwin, where he jumped into a waiting car, which may be a blue Mercury Marquis.

Police also approached a house on Avalon Avenue, and were questioning the people inside. A witness in side the restaurant across the street said they saw the get-away car bump into a parked truck in the parking lo, but damage was minor.

Police are on the lookout for a black man, about five ten or five-eleven, weighing about 150- 160 pounds, in his mid-thirties, possibly with brown eyes. Police would not say how much money was taken.
