ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Paul Eames stadium in East Albany is rarely used except for some high school and American Legion games, but a pro team could call it home once again.

The Peach State League is currently negotiating with the city. The Albany Quails may play about 15 games at the stadium this summer. If that goes well and the league attracts spectators, a full season could be on the schedule next year.

"Since they are a new league and they are still recruiting players, for them to get their feet wet and see if all is willing to participate and support them and if they will have a great season here, we hope that they will, but we are still working with them on negotiations," said Recreation Director Suzanne Davis. "It would be a rental for this summer and a possible lease situation for next year."

The league's owner also plans to establish teams in Warner Robins, Milledgeville, and Macon where the league will be headquartered.
