VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –A manhunt continues Tuesday night for a suspected serial burglar in Lowndes County.

Authorities used ATVs, K-9s and a State Patrol helicopter to try to find him.

They think he's responsible for several burglaries over the last few days along with an accomplice who was taken to jail for questioning.

A Georgia State Patrol helicopter flys over Bemiss Road during an all day man hunt for 21-year old Shermaine Manning. He's wanted for a string of burglaries in Lowndes County.

"They're making entrance by kicking the door in, stealing the items and coming back out and it's been going on for two days we've been going after them for two days and we certainly had some luck this morning," said Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine.

After the men burglarized a home on Robin Lane Tuesday morning, Lowndes County deputies were able to stop the red SUV Sirmans was in near Knights Academy Road and Walker Road. Sirmans left his partner Manning behind.

"We stopped the red suburban about 8:15 this morning," said Prine.

That's when the Sirmans was taken into custody and since then they've been searching for Manning around the Knights Academy Road and Bemiss Road area. In addition to the GSP helicopter they used ATVs K-9s and help from Remerton and Valdosta Police.

By mid afternoon, authorities had covered several miles with no sign of Manning.

Manning lives in Valdosta.

He's around six feet tall and has a heavy build.

If you know where investigators can find him, call the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office at (229) 671-2900.
