ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The Albany city commission continues to discuss what will happen to an employee who had a gun in his desk at work.

A city employee found the gun in City Attorney Nathan Davis's desk and notified the city manager. The city commission is working to decide whether to punish Davis.

Davis does not have a carry permit, but Georgia law allows citizens to have a gun in their car, home or place of work.

The city has an administrative policy that prohibits weapons in city offices, but it's not clear if that policy applies to Davis. Commissioners plan to meet again to discuss the issue.

No decisions have been made.
