THOMASVILLE,  GA (WALB) – Two men are in jail after investigators say they broke into a church then ran from deputies Tuesday morning.

19-year-old Daniel McGee and 24-year-old Matthew Burnett were arrested after investigators say the pair damaged a door lock and broke into Victory Baptist Church on Pinetree Blvd just before 4AM.

When deputies arrived they saw the men run through the church then out another door.

Officers chased McGee and found him lying in the woods nearby. Minutes later K-9 units helped track down Burnett who was hiding near Thomas county middle school.

Nothing was stolen but both men are charged with burglary. McGee is also charged with possession of marijuana. He was out on bond for another recent burglary in Thomas county.
