T-Pain's dad loses boat on interstate

By Tayleigh Davis - bio | email

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Rapper T-Pain is famous for his part in the hit song, "I'm On A Boat," but his father actually lost his boat this afternoon on Interstate 75 just north of Unadilla.

Shaheed Najm and his grandson were driving north on I-75 when the tire blew out on his truck. The boat fell off the trailer and onto the road, blocking all three lanes of traffic around 4:30 this afternoon.

He says the boat actually saved him and he's thankful he and his grandson are okay.

"I had no control and all we could do was sit on for the ride," Najm said. "I was pulling a 20ft Sportcraft and actually the boat and the trailer saved us from turning over because the boat kept the truck from flipping over because it pinned it down"

Najm said he was moving from Tallahassee to Atlanta to be with son T-Pain who's real name is Faheem Najm.
