ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An elderly woman is recovery from injuries after her car struck another vehicle and landed upside down on an Albany street.

It happened around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.

Police say 78-year-old Lily Pearl Covington was driving her 2003 Oldsmobile Alero east on Residence Avenue.

Covington drifted in to the right lane and struck a parked pick-up truck on side of the road and flipped her car.

She was taken by ambulance to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Covington was cited for striking a stationary object.
