Heavy dusting of pollen good for some businesses

By Wainwright Jeffers - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Thursday's heavy rain washed away some of the pollen that has covered everything lately, but there's still plenty of the yellow stuff around.

The extra heavy dusting of pollen this Spring may be annoying for you, but it's been great for business at car washes.

Managers at DJ's say they're seeing a constant stream of customers looking to get the pollen off their cars.

"We had a good rain last night and it helped out with the pollen, it's still out there and will be out there for a while. We're kind of glad because it's helping us out in a down economy," said Colby Wiggins, DJ's Car Wash & Quick Lube.

Allergy sufferers are ready for the pollen to stop falling, but car was managers hope it sticks around a little longer.
