Albany-- One Palmyra Hospital nurse helps save lives everyday, but she owes her own life to someone she never met.
Robin Harris received an kidney transplant in April 1997. Today, she watched as Palmyra Hospital was honored for its commitment to the organ donation process.
In 1996, Harris had sudden kidney failure, needing a kidney donation to stay alive. Harris got her wish, although she never found out who the donor was. "Somebody can give life back to you. It's wonderful, I was ecstatic, I wanted to meet the family though," Harris said.
Right now, 1,200 Georgians are waiting for a live saving organ transplant.
