News release from Phoebe Putney Memorial
ALBANY, GA - It's almost time for the annual Phoebe Paver Dedication Ceremony. The official event will take place at 10:00AM Tuesday, April 13, in the Wetherbee Lobby at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The ceremony brings attention to the names honored through the Phoebe Paver Project, a brick pathway that involves the exterior walkway between the main hospital entrance and the hospital tower. This area is paved with thousands of bricks, each embellished with someone's name.
The Phoebe Paver Project, in its 17th year, is a way to pay tribute to the birth of a new baby, memorialize loved ones or give thanks to a friend or medical professional.
The Paver Project is just one of several ways that the community can help benefit the hospital through The Phoebe Foundation. The Foundation provides a way for the community to come together through charitable giving to provide life-saving services and technology.
Each spring, a dedication ceremony recognizes those who have added new bricks in the name of someone they wish to honor with a paver brick of their own.
This year's ceremony will feature testimonials from many people who have donated to the Phoebe Foundation Paver Project on behalf of a loved one.
