Lowndes deputies make narc arrests

VALDOSTA -  According to Sheriff Chris Prine three different persons were arrested on Thursday, April 8 2010 for various narcotic offenses. The following is a brief description of those arrests.

A traffic stop in the 5700 block of New Bethel Road resulted in the arrest of Travis Lee Bowling {07-23-1981}. Units from the Narcotic Investigation Division of the Sheriff's Office stopped Bowling and conducted a subsequent search of his vehicle. This resulted in the discovery of a glass smoking device {pipe} and approximately one {1} gram of methamphetamine.

Bowling was charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act {possession of methamphetamine} and Possession of a drug related object. Both of these offenses are felonies. Travis Bowling is presently in the Lowndes County Jail.

After receiving a citizen tip, Units from the Narcotic Investigation Division conducted an investigation which led to the identification and arrest of Kito Ahamad Perry {10-11-1986}. Personnel conducted a search at 2105 Baytree Road where they discovered approximately thirteen {13} grams of marijuana, a nine {9} millimeter handgun and a sum of currency.

Following his arrest Perry was transported to the Lowndes County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, Possession of the tools for the commission of a crime and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charge relating to the tools for the commission of a crime is related to items found inside the home that would be used for the measurement, packaging and distribution of the narcotics.

Perry remains in the Lowndes County Jail.

Personnel from the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff's Office served an arrest warrant at 2349 Harter Avenue and while doing so discovered a quantity of marijuana.

The residents, Kyle Travis Rhames {04-30-1987} and Michael Deuley {06-10-1968}, were both arrested and transported to the Lowndes County Jail. Kyle Rhames was charged with Violation of probation and Possession of marijuana {misdemeanor}.

Michael Deuley was charged with Possession of marijuana {misdemeanor}. Both of these persons remain in the Lowndes County Jail.
