Mt. Zion prepares for dedication of new church

Albany - (WALB) - The congregation of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church begins its transition into its new facility with an Open House on April 10, 2010 from 10am - noon.

The dedicatory service will be Sunday, April 11, 2010 beginning with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. The public is invited to participate in this historic occasion.

The first phase of construction at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church's future site located at 900 South Westover Boulevard commenced on December 19, 2008, under the direction of

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church's Senior Pastor, Dr. Daniel Simmons. The new facility will seat over 2000 parishioners. 

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church is a lighthouse of Christian servitude in Albany, Georgia and surrounding communities. From its humble beginning in 1865 to present, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church has evolved within its 143 years under the leadership of nine anointed pastors.

Since 1991, the church has continued to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ under the tutelage of its Senior Pastor, Dr. Daniel Simmons. With a congregation of over 3000+ members and 54 ministries,

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church is reaching the world for Christ through evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and missions.
