ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Southwest of Leary, in the vicinity of Deer Run Plantation on Old Milford Road, we have reports of storm damage to a barn, some trucks, a dog kennel, and some trees were knocked over about 4:45 Thursday afternoon.
We got a report from Calhoun County Sheriff Josh Hilton about 6:00.
"We've seen some pretty severe damage, around Deer Run Plantation where the dog kennels and the horses are, but everybody's fine, even the dogs and the horses."
The area is sparsely populated. "Only one or two houses are out here," said Sheriff Hilton. "There was a little damage to the houses, and some sever damage to the barns and kennel. We don't know if it was a tornado or just a strong gust of wind."
A greenhouse was hit by a storm in Nicholasville in Early County, and was severely damaged.
WALB is following this story, and will have more information later.
