ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A candidate for Georgia Secretary of State is on the statewide campaign trail. Gary Horlacher visited Dougherty County Thursday on his "Listening and Learning" tour.

He says he wants to hear what's really important to ALL Georgians, not just those who live near the capitol. Horlacher says he was working to build trust with voters before that became a campaign trail standard.

"Long before that happened, sat down with a 26-year F.B.I. Agent, answered all the questions politicians don't like to answer. He strapped me up to the polygraph machine and determined that I was telling the truth by twice the required threshold. So yes, that is raising the bar to a pretty high level that not many politicians will sign onto."

Horlacher is running in the Democratic primary. He also visited Lee County today and will continue his tour until he's visited every Georgia county.
