ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The ADICA board selected a new operator for the city owned skate park downtown.

They agreed to draft a lease for businessman Lane Rosen, who owns the State Theatre, to get Riverskate back up and running.

Rosen also has plans to install zip lines across the river and offer tube rides down the Flint.

"Mr. Rosen has a child and he's involved in that community anyway, that's one reason he was such a good candidate and he has future proposals with the tubing and things of that nature that will involve more kids," said Phil Cannon, ADICA Board Member.

ADICA will spend $4,200 dollars to repair the fence around the skate park.

Of the candidates who presented plans to reopen Riverskate, Rosen was the only one willing to pay rent.

The park shut down at the end of the year when the previous manager moved out of town.

ADICA had let their contract with him lapse.
