By Stephanie Springer - bio | email ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany woman celebrated a milestone Wednesday; her 100th birthday.
Bernice McCurry celebrated with family and friends at Palmyra Nursing Home in Albany.
Originally from North Carolina, McCurry came to Albany in 1970. She showed up to her party in her favorite color, purple, and requested her favorite song,"Kawliga."
When asked her secret to staying healthy, she replied: "Well it wouldn't be a secret if I told you!"
Amazingly, Mrs. McCurry is not the oldest living member in her family. She has a sister who just turned 102.
