ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany's Turner Job Corps Center will serve as the host for the 2010 Job Corps National Tournament this week.
Albany's Turner Job Corps Center's (TJCC) women's and men's basketball team successfully defended their titles as Job Corps Athletic Association's National Champions in 2009.
The tournament, representing the best Job Corps' national teams, will be held in the George Foreman Gymnasium at Turner Job Corps Center and Turner Field Gymnasium.
Tournament Play started at 8:30 this morning at the TJCC GYM & Turner Field Gym. The day will conclude at 6:00 p.m. with 2-ball (coach & player) – 3 point shoot-out – and Slam Dunk competitions.
Tournament Play will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the TJCC GYM & Turner Field Gym for the Semi-Finals, and will continue through the day.
The championship games will be held Friday. At 10:00 a.m., the Female championship game will take place. Then at 12:30 p.m., comes the male championship game. The awards ceremony takes place at 2:00 p.m.
