Ray City community honors Moody heroes

April 10, 2003

Ray City - A South Georgia town is honoring Moody's fallen heroes.

People gathered in Ray City Wednesday night to honor the crew of Komodo 11. Six dogwood trees were planted in memory of the airmen, who died in a helicopter crash on a rescue mission in Afghanistan.

Ray City Mayor Carl Camon unveiled a plaque that will be hung in city hall in honor of the crew.

Just last spring, the community also planted a tree in honor of Jason Cunningham...a pararescue jumper killed in the line of duty.
