ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Darton College students rushed to try to save a fellow student who collapsed on campus Monday, but that student died.

41-year-old Stacy Jones, Sr. apparently had a heart attack just after noon Monday near the Allied Health Building.

Darton students grabbed one of the defibrillators the college has placed around the campus.

They performed CPR and used the defibrillators until an ambulance arrived.

Jones was transported to Phoebe Putney hospital, but he died.

The Dougherty County deputy coroner says Jones died of complications of hyper-tension and cardiovascular disease.
