MCLB-ALBANY, DOUGHERTY COUNTY GA (WALB) – A lot of Christians got up early this morning to take part Easter in sunrise services.

The Chapel at the Marine Corps Logistics Base hosted Easter Sunrise Service at seven this morning.

The backdrop was the rising sun and Covella Pond.

Easter is one of the holiest days on the Christian calendar and celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"We have these periods in our society like New Years where it represents a new hope, a new direction. Easter is kind of the same today we can make a decision and live a life pleasing to God," said Lt. Ken Miller, CHC, USN, Chaplain.

This morning's service was only open to base personnel.
